IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Due to strict government guidelines, we are not performing routine examinations and treatments at this time. We are currently triaging emergency calls only over the phone but our front door is closed to the public to prevent the transmission of Covid-19. If you have any dental concerns, you can still contact us by email and telephone during normal working hours.

Gateshead Evening

35 years dental experience in the North-East

With 35 years’ professional experience in the North-East, we’ve forged close ties with local DAMAS-approved laboratories, supply companies and dental committees.

This local knowledge and experience ensures we can deliver quality dental products and a high level of dental care in line with local population demand, as well as supporting our local companies. At Ilfracombe Dental Practice we do our best to ensure that your dental care meets your individual needs and, as a patient, you have the right to express a preference of practitioner.

Innovative technology means better care

We are equipped with state-of-the-art technology to help diagnose the problem quickly and accurately so that treatment may be efficiently administered.

We use Digital Radiography, which greatly reduces a patient’s exposure to radiation and shortens film processing time. This allows us to optimise treatment time in the dental chair.

Ground floor surgery & wheelchair access

Access is available but limited as the building is a mid-terraced Victorian dwelling. Our ground floor rooms in the premises are accessible to wheelchairs.

There is a waiting room and treatment room (surgery) on the ground floor but, unfortunately, no lavatory on this level. The practice is accessed via a suitable wide concrete ramp and hand-rail with a low-level doorbell at the entrance that can be used if you require assistance in entering (this door is operated manually rather than electrically). There is surrounding street parking and we’re located close to a main bus interchange and Monkseaton Metro station. We can always arrange a taxi if you prefer.

Patient Care and Treatment Plans

We realise that every patient has their own requirements when it comes to cost and the type of treatments they want. This is why we offer a comprehensive choice of payment plans, incorporating a variety of treatment options to reflect your individual preferences.

At Ilfracombe Dental Practice, we welcome Denplan, independent/private and NHS patients (limited spaces available). But which one is right for you? We are here to help guide you to the scheme that best fits your needs. Please remember that independent/private dentistry need not be expensive. In some cases, treatment may be cheaper than NHS dentistry.

Denplan offers payment plans to help you spread the cost of your dental care.
