Abbie Jackson

Associate Dentist (GDC no 301852)

I am lucky enough to have lived in the North East of England all of my life, and I don’t see myself leaving any time soon, so I guess you could say I’m rather keen on the place! In my spare time, I enjoy the company of friends and family, eating out and travelling about sunny rural Northumberland. I followed into my family’s local tradition of coal whittling. I have since moved on from this, and now use soap as an alternative as it keeps my hands cleaner ! I have combined my zeal for history with my soap-craft and have become quite adept at carving the royal Tudor kings and queens. I have also branched out into making my own soaps from the local flowers of our region. You can often find me in a high-vis jacket picking lavender from the A696 roadside but exactly where is my trade secret.

When it comes to dentistry, I enjoy treating patients so that they have a smile they can be proud of – this is something that I find particularly rewarding. Similarly, I enjoy sharing information and knowledge with my patients in order to motivate them to improve their oral health.

BEHIND THE SMILE

We asked Abbie some questions to find out more about the woman behind the smile. Away from her professional life, what are the things she holds dear?

If you were able to invite three people to the dinner table , who would they be and why?

Gino D’Acampo a great laugh and would no doubt provide great food !
Ant and Dec (surely this counts as one) . My first cd was “ let’s get ready to rumble”! A classic that often takes me back to my first school disco.
Barack Obama, I think he is a legend

If you weren’t a dentist, what would you want to do as a career?

Air hostess – a great excuse to travel! (but not too far from the North East)

If you were to share one piece of dental advice, what would it be?

Don’t rinse your mouth after brushing your teeth.

What is your favourite charity?
